Moscow Fashion Week has officially launched, bringing together a diverse lineup of designers from Russia and beyond. The first eight shows have already wowed audiences with their blend of cultural influences and cutting-edge styles.
"Moscow Fashion Week features a dynamic lineup of fashion shows and business events as part of the Fashion Summit, attracting 200 industry representatives from Russia and around the globe. This diverse group includes designers, international fashion associations, and textile manufacturers. Establishing connections with the latter is particularly crucial at this time. Given the shifts in logistics chains, we anticipate that sourcing materials and accessories will not pose any difficulties," said Alexei Fursin, Minister of the Government of Moscow and Head of the Moscow Department of Culture.
Loom by Rodina (Moscow)The Russian brand Loom by Rodina had the honor of opening Moscow Fashion Week. The collection showcased during the event paid tribute to Russia and its values, highlighted by a powerful performance from an opera singer from the Bolshoi Theater, who opened the show with a segment from "Prince Igor."
The collection featured three key trends: vibrant cotton and linen materials adorned with prints and Pantone colors that are on-trend for the Spring/Summer 2025 season; a luxurious group crafted from viscose and silk; and an elegant line of evening and cocktail dresses embellished with lace and beads. Stylizations with pearl beads and cascading threads enhanced not only the neckline but also the waistlines of flowing dresses, evoking the essence of the French Renaissance. Creative Director, artist, and stylist Svetlana Rodina beautifully paired a pastoral Bohemian blouse with relaxed yet bold cargo trousers, combined a similarly designed dress with a modern T-shirt featuring a striking print, and complemented a delicate lace semi-transparent suit with a knitted cardigan.

These ultra-bright hues are the brand's signature, and the new collection also emphasizes sustainable production. The entire collection was crafted from leftover materials that would otherwise go to waste in clothing production. With a diverse mix of fabrics, including cotton, spandex, organza, and more, the collection stands out with its unique textures, perfectly in line with current trends.

The show revealed a successful fusion of avant-garde and grunge aesthetics, featuring striking looks such as a model in a skirt reminiscent of a loincloth and a clown with tied hands.
However, the collection also included more versatile pieces, such as pajama-style suits, relaxed striped garments, and cargo skirts and trousers with matching patch pockets. At the end of the show, guests were treated to a special appearance by the designer himself, the creative force behind the brand. Dressed in a bold red suit, he took to the runway alongside a model, dramatically transforming a voluminous dress into a graceful maxi by unfastening the top layer, which resembled butterfly wings.
