Moscow Fashion Week Wraps Up with Impressive Results

Moscow Fashion Week recently wrapped up in the capital, running from March 13 to 18 at ‘Manege’. The event received over a thousand applications from 111 cities across Russia, featuring collections from 186 brands representing 27 regions of Russia and 9 other countries, such as Armenia, China, India, Indonesia, South Africa, Tajikistan, and Turkey among others.

This year, Moscow Fashion Week drew in over 65 000 attendees, showcasing a total of 90 shows. These included 81 fashion shows by Russian designers and 9 by international designers, including 6 collective shows featuring 139 students and graduates from 5 Russian universities presenting over 200 looks. The event saw the participation of approximately 2,300 models.

At the Moscow Fashion Week Market, visitors had the chance to browse and buy designer collections from 101 brands located in Moscow and other cities in Russia. A total of more than 14,500 registrations were recorded for the market, which saw the debut of a group stand featuring 11 Moscow designers from the Made in Moscow project. Many project participants had their first experience participating in the event. Entrepreneurs observed that the collective stand helped attract more attention to their products, resulting in a total revenue of over two million rubles for the stand participants. Additionally, a Moscow bar on the first floor offered guests traditional Moscow treats and drinks from brands participating in the Made in Moscow project.

Throughout the event, the Lecture Hall at ‘Manege’ hosted 28 sessions with 46 speakers discussing a range of topics, including the future of Russian fashion in comparison to Western trends, the incorporation of Russian cultural heritage by global brands, the impact of influencers on trends, and the allure of traditional Russian headwear for luxury brands. Each interactive lecture allowed listeners to ask questions and receive professional advice from the experts. These lectures, which garnered nearly 3 million online views, included insights from industry experts, acclaimed designers, stylists, media personalities, editors of glossy magazines, and influencers who shared their perspectives on current fashion trends for designers.

Highlights of Moscow Fashion Week included daily live broadcasts, reports, and interviews by the Moscow 24 TV channel, welcoming notable guests like Alexei Fursin, Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the Department of Culture; Aizel Trudel, Trustee of the Fashion Fund; media personalities Xenia Sobchak and Yana Rudkovskaya; Alexander Rogov; Evgeni Plushenko; Dmitry Loginov; Yulia Peresild; Igor Andreev; Maria Minogarova; Vladislav Lisovets, and international designers from China, Turkey, and more.

Every day at Moscow Fashion Week, journalists from leading Russian and international glossy and news publications, stylists, buyers, actors, athletes, influencers, and many others were in attendance.

The event also featured a Business Showroom where 45 Russian designers engaged with leading retailers and wholesale buyers for potential collaborations. Buyers from various cities in Russia, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, and others, attended this platform to explore new partnerships.

Additionally, the World Fashion Shorts fashion short film festival showcased 58 films from directors not only in Russia but also from Argentina, Mexico, the Philippines, and South Africa.
